Having suffered water shortages for more than 40 years, the Dominican Government hopes the construction of the drinking water treatment plant will improve the infrastructure in Peravia when it reaches completion in two years time.
The drinking water treatment plant, will have a capacity of 86,400 m3/day and will include a 17.5 km adduction line and a water supply network for the surrounding towns and villages, providing enough drinking water for 300,000 people.
Acciona Agua will apply its technology across the entire treatment process to obtain top-quality water. The drinking water treatment plant will feature cascade aeration, dosage of coagulant and flocculant reagents, lamellar settler, sand filtering, disinfection with chloride gas, sludge treatment by static thickening and drying periods.
