Rainwater harvesting is promoted in green building design, in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building certifications, in new local stormwater and permitting regulations as well as in new federal facility mandates requiring energy efficiency, water conservation, and water reuse in the federal building marketplace.
Philip Reidy, founder of Rainwater Recovery said: “Combining harvesting expertise with a broad water and natural resources practice such as Geosyntec’s offers clients of both organizations an expanded suite of capabilities to address stormwater management issues. The combination of these two practices in the implementation of integrated water management systems gives stakeholders more LID options to tackle our most challenging water resource management issues.”
This new emphasis on rainwater harvesting is expected to grow dramatically over the next several years as architects, engineers, and facility managers strive to meet these new requirements.
